Science
In class we are doing some weird science experiments. One project is about where to find most particals: inside or outside. Our research shows that so far outside definitely has more particles floating aound. Another project is about which liquid will make the chick pea grow faster. The liquids are tap water, orange juice, club soda, milk, vinegar, and green tea. My opinion would be that the Green Tea will win the battle.

Welcome Back!!
I hope everyone had a relaxing and enjoyable Christmas/Winter Break. Now, it's time to roll up our sleeves and finish up the next half of the year with a bang!
This week: We are reading a novel entitled "Shiloh." Ask your child what this book is about. We have paired up with Mrs. Spurr's Kindergarten class for reading buddies as well...how exciting.
In math, we are multiplying 3 and 4 digit number!! Study your multiplication facts every night.
In writing, we are writing narrative stories--the focus this week is to use specific details and lots of dialogue.
We have also been conducting science experiments to answer the following question, "Which liquid is best for germinating seeds?"

Reading Buddies on Monday!!
Starting next week, our class will be doing "reading buddies" with Mrs. Spurr`s Kindergarteners. Our class will partner up with the "little ones" and read stories to them. It is a ton of fun and gives the 4th graders an opportunity to be positive role models.
